What to verify first

  • Employer identity and authorised hiring contact
  • Country, city, job duties and employment type
  • Salary basis, taxes, working hours and overtime terms
  • Work-permit route, contract and any lawful payment terms

Red flags to take seriously

Pause and verify independently if anyone asks you to travel before your work authorisation is clear, asks you to alter documents, discourages you from reading a contract, or claims that a role is guaranteed without employer-approved information. Keep copies of your correspondence and ask questions in writing.
